Cambodia is the new technology hub in Southeast Asia, provided its large pool of human capital, especially its youthful population. AI FARM ROBOTICS (often shortened as AI FARM) is one of the leading technology companies in Cambodia aiming to develop today’s technologies, mainly drones and robots.

In the interview with Baksey Asia, H. E. Heng Sreysar the CEO of AI FARM ROBOTICS has said that AI FARM ROBOTICS is reaching its fifth year since its founding, and it is providing variety of robotic tools and drones to serve the needs of local consumers, ranging from modern farming to land surveying. In hindsight, it (the robotic technology) reduces laborious tasks, minimize risks, and decreases costs.

This five-year-old tech startup may be small, but its accomplishments have made a big move toward the future. AI FARM looks at the future and sees potentials for robotic and drone technologies. Thanks to the team effort, according to the CEO, AI FARM is transforming technologies to boost the economy in this country.

Its mission is to “Transform Cambodia to be a robotic Nation”, according to the company profile on LinkedIn. From the same source, “AI FARM ROBOTICS offers a range of services including consultation, engineering, education, industrial solutions, software development, research and development (R&D) of core robotics technology, system integration and management (SI/SM) for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) automation, AI/machine learning/deep learning (GPT) for robotics, and Robot as a Service (RaaS).

The company is bringing together young tech engineers (including AI, mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics engineers) as the first step. The next step is to develop big products, such as modern farming, drone, and AI security camera system. Specifically, for security camera products, Project FaceGo and Project Eagle Eye are two of the four biggest projects being developed by AI FARM, she adds.

From the same interview, she adds that Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help human, providing many forms of assistance. It can also save time for production in many fields, ranging from agriculture to education.

AI FARM ROBOTICS has seen its tough days and is expecting more along the way, but that is not uncommon for a tech startup. According to the CEO, there were times when tears dropped to the ground, and there were times when the team members had to work night and day just to keep up with the demands.

Be that as it may, this small tech company has found a way to utilize its technology for local needs. One of the biggest demands comes from agricultural sector in Cambodia; it is using AI FARM technology to minimize unnecessary costs and maximize the productivity.

Smart Agriculture, operated by IoT & Robotics, has been introduced to the local farmers; it can improve the farm productivity. According to the CEO, with AI FARM ROBOTICS technology, the farm can improve its results up to 95% of production. This technology can be used for tasks, such as automated weeding and harvesting.

AI FARM commits to develop 100% brainpower of its AI technology, says the CEO. The company doesn’t just talk the talk; it invests so much money in its technology. For example, according to the CEO, one robotic dog has to be trained at least one year before reaching a matured stage of development.

In addition to agricultural production, AI FARM also aims at transforming Cambodia economy from low-cost labor to high-productivity and innovation-driven growth, says the CEO in the same interview. The next problem that AI FARM is determined to solve is education. STEM education, to be exact. The company is providing educational tools for children and teenagers.

With that being said, AI FARM sees education as a practical class rather than a theory, meaning students should be taught to build real robots. Moreover, teachers who teach these students to build robots are real engineers from AI FARM working on really exciting projects for the next generation of Cambodia.

This young startup is open for more investment and partnership to make Cambodia one of the biggest tech powerhouses in Asia. The CEO also urges Cambodian consumers to support local products (specifically technology) for three reasons. Number one, the support from local consumers will boost the economy of the country. Number two, maintenance services are within reach. Number three, as the notion “Khmer loves Khmer” goes, we all should support one another and upgrade as we go along. To make that possible, Khmer should help one another. Plus, the product prices, made in Cambodia, developed by Cambodians, are understandably affordable. In other words, these AI products are made by Khmer for Khmer.
